Disconnect one service
Open Connections inside Lainey and choose Disconnect beside the service. For the iPhone Shortcut, open Life, then Share to Lainey, and revoke the Shortcut connection.
Disconnecting removes Lainey's local access and stops future use of the connection. Where supported, Lainey also attempts to revoke the provider token. You can separately remove Lainey in the provider's connected-app settings.
Disconnecting does not delete:
- Content already published to a social platform.
- A message already sent.
- A reply draft already created in Gmail.
- An event that remains in Google or Microsoft Calendar.
- Data the provider keeps under its own terms.
- Lainey records you created using the connection.
Delete your whole Lainey account
In Lainey, open Settings, find Delete account, and type the confirmation phrase shown on screen. This starts the permanent deletion process. Export anything you need first.
You can also email hey@lainey.io from the address on your account with the subject Delete my data. We may ask you to verify the request and aim to complete and reconcile an emailed request within 30 days.
What account deletion removes
Lainey deletes or disables the known account-scoped records for:
- Your Brain, onboarding, chats, and saved source text.
- Content Studio drafts, plans, templates, approvals, schedules, media, and publishing state.
- Projects, launches, clients, tasks, goals, and Weekly Wins.
- Life, family, home, meal, shopping, journal, wellbeing, birth, and chart records.
- Connected-app credentials, ChatGPT and Claude connection access, and iPhone Shortcut access.
- Known user-owned files in Lainey's media storage.
- Your Clerk login and sessions.
Lainey attempts supported provider revocation before local credentials are removed. A provider may still show a historical connection or keep data under its own legal and account settings. Remove destination posts, messages, drafts, and events in the destination service if you no longer want them there.
Temporary and retained records
Raw Share to Lainey screenshots, PDFs, and room photos are cleared after extraction rather than saved with the proposal. Successful voice audio is deleted after transcription. Failed voice audio stays private for retry and is deleted when you discard it or delete your account. Its recovery job expires after 48 hours.
We may keep the minimum operational record reasonably needed for security, fraud prevention, billing, tax, legal compliance, or an active dispute. Current technical limits include:
- Detailed AI usage events: up to 45 days.
- ChatGPT and Claude connector audit events: up to 180 days.
- AI usage aggregates: up to 400 days.
Provider logs and backups can take additional time to expire under the relevant provider's schedule and are not used to recreate a deleted member account.
If automatic deletion reports a problem
If Lainey reports that part of deletion could not finish, email hey@lainey.io from your account email. We will verify the request and reconcile the remaining account or provider step.

If you want a copy or correction rather than deletion, email hey@lainey.io. Tell us what you need and we will verify the request and respond within a reasonable period.
