Lainey
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 June 2026
This policy explains what information Lainey collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Lainey is an AI operating system for business owners, operated by Jess Clark (“Lainey”, “we”, “us”) from Australia.
Who we are
Lainey is operated by Jess Clark, based in Australia. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hey@lainey.io.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign up we collect your name and email address through our authentication provider (Clerk).
- Your “Brain” and content. The business information you give Lainey - your business profile, offers, audience, brand voice, goals, projects, tasks, notes, and the content you draft and store with us.
- Connected-account data. When you connect a third-party app (for example Google, Meta/Instagram, Microsoft, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok, or Notion), we receive access credentials and the specific data those permissions allow, so Lainey can do the work you ask of it (for example publishing a post or syncing a calendar event).
- Usage information. Basic technical and usage data needed to run and secure the service.
Payments are handled by our checkout provider (ThriveCart). We do not collect or store your full card details.
How we use your information
- To provide and operate Lainey and the features you use.
- To generate drafts, plans, and other outputs you ask Lainey to create.
- To carry out actions you direct, such as publishing content or syncing a calendar, using the connected accounts you have authorised.
- To secure, maintain, support, and improve the service.
- To communicate with you about your account.
AI processing
Lainey uses third-party AI models (Anthropic’s Claude) to generate content and assist you. To do this, the relevant parts of your prompts and Brain context are sent to that provider to produce a response. We do not sell your information, and your content is not used to train Lainey.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Lainey, and only as needed:
- Authentication: Clerk.
- Hosting and data storage: Vercel and our database providers.
- AI processing: Anthropic.
- Payments: ThriveCart.
- The third-party platforms you choose to connect, when you direct Lainey to act on them.
We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
Google API Services - Limited Use
Lainey’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only use Google user data to provide and improve the features you have connected, we do not transfer it except as needed to provide those features or as required by law, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read it unless you ask us to, it is needed for security, or the law requires it.
How we protect and keep your information
Connected-account access tokens are stored encrypted, and are removed when you disconnect that app; access also expires automatically when unused. We keep your Brain and content while your account is active so Lainey can work for you, and we delete it when you delete your account.
Your choices and rights
You can disconnect any connected app at any time from the Connections page inside Lainey. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, including full account deletion, by following our Data Deletion instructions or emailing hey@lainey.io. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, including the Australian Privacy Principles.
Children
Lainey is for business owners and is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date above, and significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
