1. Who may use Lainey
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter an agreement. If you use Lainey for a business or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for it. Keep your login secure and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
2. What Lainey provides
Lainey helps you organise and act across three connected spaces:
- Content Studio: plan, create, review, design, schedule, export, and publish content.
- Projects: manage projects, launches, clients, tasks, milestones, briefs, and related content.
- Life: organise selected family, calendar, meal, shopping, home, wellbeing, and personal information.
Your Brain carries the context you choose to keep across these spaces. Weekly Wins and the dashboard connect a current priority to the relevant work. Features can be improved, limited, moved, or removed as the product develops. We will give reasonable notice when a material change significantly reduces a paid feature, unless urgent security, legal, or third-party action makes notice impractical.
3. Beta and early-access features
Lainey is currently provided as a beta service. A feature labelled beta, pilot, or early access may be incomplete, change quickly, contain errors, or be unavailable. This includes features that depend on a provider approval or limited member cohort. A beta label does not remove a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
4. Your information and content
You retain your rights in the information, documents, media, and other content you provide. You give us a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, copy, process, transform, transmit, and display that content only as needed to provide, secure, and support Lainey, follow your instructions, and meet legal obligations.
You are responsible for having the rights and authority needed to upload or use your content, including brand assets, client work, testimonials, private messages, school material, photographs, music, templates, and information about another person. Do not give Lainey more personal or confidential information than the task reasonably needs.
5. AI-generated output
AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, unsuitable, or similar to output created for someone else. Review it before you publish, send, rely on, or apply it. You are responsible for the final content and action you approve.
As between you and Lainey, and to the extent permitted by law and provider terms, we assign to you any rights we may have in output created specifically for you. We do not promise that output is unique, capable of copyright protection, or free from third-party rights. Lainey does not provide legal, medical, psychological, financial, tax, employment, or other professional advice.
6. Connected accounts
When you connect another service, you:
- Authorise Lainey to access it within the exact permissions you grant.
- Confirm that you own or are authorised to connect the account.
- Remain responsible for complying with the provider's terms.
- Understand that provider availability, reviews, and API changes can affect the feature.
You can disconnect a service. This stops new Lainey access but may not remove content, messages, events, drafts, or records already created on that service.
7. Calendar, inbox, and communications
Calendar changes use only the permissions you authorise. The restricted Gmail pilot can read recent inbox details, open a full message when you choose, and create a reply draft. Under the current scopes Lainey cannot send that draft. You review and send it from Gmail. Lainey does not currently request Outlook Mail access.
Where a social inbox, reply, or automation feature is enabled, you remain responsible for messages and automations sent from your connected account.
8. Content publishing
Lainey can publish or schedule content after you approve the content and choose the relevant action. Some formats require a manual handoff, such as an Instagram Story poll or native music. You are responsible for the final copy, creative, account, timing, rights, disclosures, and platform compliance.
A request may fail because of provider outages, expired permissions, file rules, moderation, or platform changes. Marking I posted this records your statement that the content is live. It does not independently verify every fact on the destination platform unless Lainey shows that verification.
9. ChatGPT and Claude connection
Eligible members may connect ChatGPT or Claude through scoped OAuth permissions. The connection can read and make specific Brain, project, launch, client, task, and Content Studio changes that you request and authorise. It cannot use a general delete tool, directly publish content, silently overwrite the Brain, or trigger paid Lainey AI generation.
Content imported through the connection remains unapproved. Brain changes remain proposals until you approve them in Lainey. Your use of ChatGPT or Claude is also governed by your agreement with that provider.
10. Share to Lainey and information about others
Share to Lainey lets you deliberately send a screenshot, PDF, selected text, image, or link for extraction into a review proposal. You must not use it to collect, expose, or misuse another person's information unlawfully.
If you add information about a client, lead, employee, contractor, partner, child, or family member, you confirm that you have a lawful basis and any consent or authority required. Share only what the feature needs.
11. Family and Life features
Life is an organisational tool, not a health, emergency, childcare, safeguarding, or professional advice service. Do not rely on Lainey for urgent reminders, medication, medical monitoring, emergency response, or any situation where a delay or error could cause harm. Human Design and astrology are for personal reflection only.
You control what journal or Life information is sent to Content Studio. A private journal entry is not publishable content unless you deliberately share it for that purpose.
12. Fees, renewals, cancellation, and refunds
Paid access is billed through ThriveCart or the checkout provider shown at purchase. A Lainey membership begins with a minimum commitment of three consecutive months, paid in three monthly instalments. The monthly amount and the total minimum amount payable for those three months are displayed at checkout. By starting the membership, you agree to pay all three instalments. This initial term reflects the personalised setup and continuing service made available across the three months.
After the initial three-month term, the membership continues month to month at the accepted monthly price until cancelled. You can cancel at any time through the available billing link or by emailing hey@lainey.io. If you cancel during the initial term, cancellation stops renewal after the third monthly instalment. Unless the law gives you a right to end the agreement earlier, the remaining instalments are still due and access continues until the end of that term. After the initial term, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid monthly period. We do not add a separate cancellation fee.
Your accepted price will not increase during the initial term. We will give reasonable advance notice of a later price increase. You can cancel before the increase takes effect if you do not accept it.
We do not provide a refund solely because you change your mind, do not use the service, do not complete setup, do not achieve a particular business result, or forget to cancel before the next billing date, where Lainey was supplied as described and no consumer guarantee was breached. We will correct a duplicate or incorrect charge. Ending a subscription does not automatically delete your account or data.
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For a major failure with the service, you may be entitled to cancel the service contract and receive a refund for the unused portion, or compensation for its reduced value, as well as compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If a failure is not major, we are entitled to a reasonable opportunity to fix it. If it is not fixed within a reasonable time, you may be entitled to cancel and receive a refund for the unused portion. These rights apply despite the beta status or three-month minimum commitment.
If we end Lainey or materially withdraw your paid service without cause during a period you have paid for, we will provide a reasonable replacement or refund the affected unused portion. Any additional refund promise displayed at purchase also applies.
13. Usage limits and fair use
Plans may include reasonable limits for AI generation, transcription, spoken playback, storage, uploads, publishing, connected accounts, or other resource-intensive features. We may use rate limits and temporary safety stops to protect members, providers, and the service. Plan limits shown at purchase or in Lainey form part of these Terms.
14. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use Lainey unlawfully, fraudulently, or to harm, harass, exploit, or deceive another person.
- Publish spam, malware, illegal content, or content you do not have the right to use.
- Misuse information about children, clients, leads, or private individuals.
- Bypass permissions, rate limits, account boundaries, security, or provider rules.
- Scrape, reverse engineer, probe, or disrupt Lainey except where a law expressly allows.
- Share access credentials or connect an account you do not control.
- Use AI output as the sole basis for a high-impact decision about another person's rights or access to an essential service.
15. Intellectual property in Lainey
We and our licensors own Lainey, including the software, interface, product copy, workflows, templates, design system, trade marks, and documentation, excluding your content. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Lainey for your own business during active access. You may not resell or commercially exploit the service itself without written permission.
16. Feedback
If you choose to give product feedback, you allow us to use it to improve Lainey without payment or attribution. This does not give us ownership of confidential business content included in that feedback.
17. Availability and third-party services
We work to keep Lainey available and recover safely from failures, but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Features that depend on AI, social platforms, Google, Microsoft, authentication, hosting, payment providers, or other third parties can be delayed, limited, or unavailable. Keep your own copy of important final content and business records.
18. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Lainey, cancel paid access subject to section 12, and delete your account. We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to investigate security, prevent harm, comply with law, address non-payment, or respond to a serious breach. Where practical, we will explain the reason and give you a reasonable opportunity to fix it.
19. What happens when access ends
Ending a subscription does not automatically delete your data. Use the account deletion control or follow the Data Deletion instructions. Published posts, sent messages, external drafts, and calendar events may remain with the connected provider.
20. Consumer guarantees and liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies a consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot legally be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Subject to those rights, Lainey is provided on an as-available basis. We do not guarantee that AI output is accurate, unique, legally compliant, or suitable for a particular purpose, or that a third-party connection will remain available. To the extent permitted by law, each party is responsible for loss it causes through its breach, negligence, or unlawful conduct. Neither party is responsible for indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, except where liability cannot be limited by law.
21. Disputes and changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. The courts and tribunals of Victoria have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If a dispute arises, contact hey@lainey.io first and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve it. This does not prevent either party from seeking urgent relief, exercising a right available in another jurisdiction, or using a consumer or regulatory process available by law.
We may update these Terms for legal, security, provider, or product reasons. We will give reasonable notice of a material change. A change will not retrospectively remove an accrued consumer right.
22. General and contact
If part of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, the rest continues to apply to the extent allowed by law. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer your account or these Terms without our consent.
